The storyline is almost the same of the original game, but in this lite version, only the normal races are playable.
In Burnin Rubber 5 XS the player starts with four starter cars: A7, Bullet 350, Rebel, and the Petite XS. But once the player completes more race challenges, they will unlock more vehicles like the GT Blaze and the Vice. The only three purchasable cars in this game are the ForceZ, DX Turbo, and the Hunter, which can be purchased them with an in-game cash or watching an advertisement video.
The customization is very limited compared to Burnin’ Rubber 5, the player can’t change the skin and upgrade them, nor can it decide where he wants to place his weapons on his vehicle.
The first race is the Speedway, and once the player completes more race challenges, they will unlock more vehicles and tracks. If the player complete the game and all the achievements earned, they will unlock a secret car, the Nemesis.
