Superhot Unblocked is an first-person shooter (FPS) video game developed by Superhot Team on September 2013 for Web browser (WebGL).
The prototype for SUPERHOT Unblocked was created for the 20137DFPS Challenge by the SUPERHOT Team. It was extremely popular, and won the WGK2013 Developers Showcase. Its success encouraged the development of a full version of SUPERHOT. The game features a single weapon, the Pistol, and only Standard Enemies. There are only five levels. It is built in the Unity Engine.
Gameplay of Superhot Unblocked
Superhot Unblocked sets the player in a minimalistic environment, taking out hostile attackers that are trying to kill them. Weapons picked up by the player have limited ammunition and break easily, requiring the player to rely on defeating enemies to attain new weapons, or making melee kills. Taking a single hit from an enemy bullet kills the player, requiring them to restart the level.
Though the game mechanics are typical of most shooters, time only progresses normally when the player moves or fires a gun, otherwise time is slowed; this is described in the game’s tagline “Time Moves Only When You Move”. This gives the player the opportunity to alter their actions as to avoid the path of bullets or to better assess their current situation.
Levels
Each level in Superhot Unblocked starts with the title of the level flashing on the screen, and ends with the words “SUPER HOT” flashing accompanied by a robotic voice reading the text.
- IT’S ABOUT TIME
- THE DEAL IS OFF
- GRAB THE GUN
- THEY KEEP COMING
- BOSS FIGHT
Bugs
- There is a bug, that when you beat a level while standing on a gun and holding a gun, as the gun is thrown, you pick up another and hold it. This is likely caused by the automatic pickup of guns in the prototype.
- In the third level there is a chance that you will randomly get thrown in the air.
- In the first level if you jump on the opening and jump backwards into the fan there is a chance you will get stuck in the ceiling
Trivia
- When you kill an enemy, they drop a pair of sunglasses. Sometimes, these are replaced with normal glasses.
