Ingredients needed to make cucumber lemon mint water.
  • 2 cucumbers thinly sliced – English hothouse cucumbers if you can find them, cut regular work great too.
  • 2 to 3 fresh lemons thinly sliced
  • A generous handful of fresh mint leaves
  • Filtered water – the quality of the water effects the overall flavor of the water.
  • Redmond Real Salt – optional to help with electrolyte balance.

How to make lemon mint cucumber water

Wash the cucumbers thoroughly and cut them into thin slices. You can peel the cucumbers if desired, but it’s not necessary.

Slice the lemons into thin rounds and remove any loose seeds.

Take a generous handful of fresh mint leaves and gently rub them between your fingers to release their aroma and flavor.

Add the cucumber slices, lemon slices or wedges, and crushed mint leaves to a large pitcher or jag that can hold at least a gallon.

Fill the pitcher with enough water to cover the slices, leaving some space at the top to account for stirring and expansion. Stir gently to mix the ingredients together.

Place the pitcher in the refrigerator and let the flavors infuse for at least 2 hours. For stronger flavor, you can leave it overnight.

Serve the cucumber lemon mint water chilled, over ice with or without slices of lemon, cucumber, and mint.

Store the infused water in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Strain and discard the fruit and mint leaves after 24 hours to avoid making the water murky or growing any type of mold.

Feel free to use a variety of citrus fruits based on what you might have on hand. Strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries would be a delicious combination as well. Hmm, I may want to make that one next.

What are cucumber and lemon water health benefits?

Drinking water throughout the day is very important to keep your body functioning. Adding some salt to your water can help balance electrolytes that are lost from exercising or sweating.

The vitamin C or antioxidants in fruits and vegetables are most beneficial when consumed in their regular state. Adding them to water makes the water taste better, which may convince you to drink more, but detox waters are not a magical elixir to cure all that ails you. Sorry.
