No Harry Potter party would be complete without a Polyjuice Potion Cocktail (or mocktail) recipe! I am sorry to say that you will not turn into a different person by drinking my version, unless of course you drink too much, but that would just be silly. You know what they always say…..everything in moderation!

Doesn’t’ that look like fun? I have been searching for lime sherbet for several years now and cannot find it anywhere! So I decided to give rainbow sherbet a try and see what would happen. At worst, the color would be a disgusting combination of colors, right? Well the actual Polyjuice Potion recipe contains batwings, and eye of newt so that would look pretty disgusting as well.

Below is the original image that is plastered all over pinterest! I would hate for you to think you arrived at the wrong recipe. Same recipe, new images.
What’s in Polyjuice Potion?
- Rainbow sherbet
- lemon-lime soda
- green food coloring
- vodka – skip the alcohol for a kid friendly punch!
How to make a Polyjuice Potion Cocktail:
Pour the vodka into a large punch bowl and add the green food coloring.
Next, pour in the lemon-lime soda.
Now for the fun part…add scoops of sherbet to the punch bowl.
Serve using a large ladle and pour into party glasses.
Recipe Notes & Tips
- When the party is over, pour the remaining punch down the drain…..it will not keep in the refrigerator!
- If not using vodka, add the green food coloring to the lemon-lime soda.
- I used this Electric Green food coloring. {affiliate link}

You are so much fun. 🙂
I love this so much. Even though I am sorry to admit that I don’t like lime sherbet I have to say I would try it. If only to see if it would change me into you. haha
Pinned!
Oh my gosh–you’re hosting Harry Potter parties now? When am I invited? 😉 this is my absolute favorite idea–glad you left out Goyle’s toenails though! Great recipe!
Well this just sounds delicious! Too bad it can’t hold onto that ominous look…..but I’m sure it doesn’t last long anyway!
The ominous look lasts long enough for the party, so I guess that’s a good thing! 🙂
Love this! Harry Potter and crew wouldn’t mind the taste of this potion one bit SO creative. Can’t wait to feature this on Saturday Night Fever!
Vodka changes me into a different person, for certain. Pinned.
Oughto, that sounds like a fun story, lol. 🙂 Vodka puts me to sleep, rum makes me silly. You would think that it wouldn’t make a difference which type of alcohol, but it does!!
Love it!! Sounds tasty and looks so festive! Pinned
The ominous look wouldn’t stand a chance with my crew! Loving all of these recipes!
My daughter and her friends love Harry Potter…last Halloween they watched Harry Potter movies all night. Next time I just may make this for them, without the alcohol of course!
I made this at my Harry Potter party last night and it was AMAZING!! I added a lot more alcohol than you suggested and still couldn’t taste it lol – great drink!
I featured the Polyjuice potion recipe on my blog!! Thank you for the ideas, these were amazing this halloween. Definitely a big hit at my house warming party.
Our library made this (without vidka, lol) for the Harry Potter extravaganza and everyone loved it!
im thinking of using this recipe for my daughters 11th birthday (minus the vodka of course) which is harry potter themed and im wondering if because of the froth on top will it keep in a punch fountain?
Hmm, I have never used a punch fountain, Jaimie. Once the sherbet melts or gets stirred into the punch it is no longer frothy, but the bubbles “might” help to prolong it a bit. They will be having so much fun I doubt they will notice how frothy it is. 😉 Let me know how it works or not, now I am curious.
