The fall season is upon us again, which means soccer games, band practices, and countless other extra-curricular activities. After you are done playing chauffeur and transporting everyone home for the evening, someone asks that dreaded question: “What’s for dinner?” My response is usually “YES,” meaning I have no clue…..
Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Smithfield® Marinated Fresh Pork. The opinions and text are all mine.
Resist the urge to grab something greasy and flavorless on your way home and make these Skillet Pork Chops with Herb Gravy instead. Dinner will be on the table in 30 minutes, and nothing compares to a delicious, home-cooked meal with your family. Real Flavor, Real Fast!
The first thing you need to do while you are running all over town for your family is stop by your local WinCo and grab a Smithfield Marinated Roasted Garlic & Herb Pork Loin Filet in the fresh meat department…..
There are several other flavors to choose from but the Roasted Garlic and Herb marinade fits perfectly into my vision for a creamy and delicious gravy!
- Smithfield Marinated Applewood Smoked Bacon
- Smithfield Marinated Roasted Garlic & Cracked Black Pepper
- Smithfield Marinated Hardwood Smoked Bacon & Cracked Black Pepper
All of these delicious flavors are available in Loin Filets, Sirloins, and Tenderloins.
How to make Skillet Pork Chops with Herb Gravy:
Slice pork loin into chops. The official serving size on the package states 7, so we are going to cut 7 slices…..
Try to get your slices a bit more uniform than I did, it helps them to cook more evenly, but don’t stress out if you don’t. Set them aside.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Mix flour in a small bowl with the sea salt and pepper. Dredge pork chops through the flour to coat both sides, shake off the excess flour and place them in the skillet….
Cook without turning for 9 minutes. Flip to the second side…..
and cook until internal temperature reaches 150 degrees, about an additional 8 to 9 minutes…..
Remove pork chops from the skillet, place on a plate and cover loosely with foil.
Drain oil from pan and discard. Melt the butter in the skillet…..
Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about one minute stirring frequently…..
Sprinkle the flour over the garlic butter, whisk to combine…..
Gradually add the warm milk, thyme, and sage. Continue whisking until thickened and smooth…..
Do not stop whisking the milk to take photos 😉
Return the pork chops to the skillet and garnish with fresh thyme {if desired}…..
I served mine with a nice helping of creamy Mashed Potatoes…..
With Smithfield Marinated Fresh Pork, the prep work is done for you. These Skillet Pork Chops with Herb Gravy are moist, tender, and loaded with flavor…..
Smithfield Marinated 100% Fresh Pork can be grilled, roasted, or sautéed in 30 minutes or less, which makes it an easy meal solution that is perfect any night of the week. We all love that, right?
Notes:
- I used unsweetened cashew milk to make mine lactose-free. The consistency of your gravy may vary a bit if using whole milk.
- To make your meal completely dairy-free, substitute non-dairy butter or oil for the unsalted butter.
- Since I have never made gluten-free gravy, I do not know what the substitutions would be.
- I used all 7 pork chops for this recipe so I would have leftovers. Feel free to use as many pork chops as your family needs for this recipe, and use the remaining pork for a different recipe. All other measurements will remain the same.
- If your stove cooks unevenly like mine, turn your skillet around a couple of times while the pork chops are cooking so they get even heat.
- To make things even easier, grab a box of instant spuds while you’re at WinCo. 😉
Enjoy!!

These look delicious! I’m tempted to try it just subbing gluten free flour for the wheat flour. Pinning this!
Made this for dinner tonight. Whole family loved it. My 12 yo couldn’t get enough. The gravy was very flavorful and scrapping up the browned bits from cooking the pork chops added to the flavor depth of the gravy. This was a very easy dinner, I served with store-packaged refrigerated mashed potatoes that I heated in the microwave and Trader Joe’s cauliflower broccoli gratin.
WooHoo, I am so glad your family enjoyed it Sue!!
